2007 Missouri Orphan Train Reunion
Stephanie Haiar, Curator of the National Orphan Train
Complex shared with those present about "What's Going on
in Concordia?"  The photographs that she was able to show
were very interesting.

Charlotte Endorf and her son also shared some experiences
of Orphan Train riders.

Descendants were invited to share the stories of their
parents. Among these were Shirley Andrews, Evelyn Trickel
and Richard Pistole.
The Sixteenth Annual Missouri Orphan Train Reunion was held in St. Joseph, Missouri on May 5, 2007.
Descendants of Orphan Train Riders and interested individuals gathered at the St. Joseph Riverside
Church.  Richard and Ruthie Pistole hosted the event.  The morning was spent renewing friendships, sharing,
and viewing a video of part of the 1990 reunion in Springdale, AK.
In the afternoon we had the privilege of having two National History
Day Contestants with us.

Alison Faulkner from Princeton, MO presented, "A Life of a Young
Orphan Train Rider".  She made a very nice presentation.

Jake Sanderson of Canton, OK made a presentation "I Rode the
Orphan Train", about a young man talking to his best friend, a
dog, about his experience on the orphan train.  It was a very good
presentation and there were not many dry eyes in the audience.

With young people like these, the story of the Orphan Trains will
not die.
