Mr. James Mallon
216 South Taylor Street
South Bend, Ind.
Dear Sir:---
It gives us much pleasure to inform you that we find it possible to send your little girl to your home.
Our agents will leave New York with the children for Indiana, Thursday, April 29th, and will arrive at the Lake
Shore & Michigan Southern station in South Bend, Friday evening, April 30th, at 6:32 o'clock. As we have a
large number of children to deliver to other points in Indiana, we must arrange some central point of meeting.
We would, therefore, ask you to be on hand to meet the train upon its arrival and to hand to the agent the
enclosed card, as he calls off your name and number.
Will you kindly answer immediately, stating your willingness to be on hand Friday evening, April 30th, to meet
the 6:32 o'clock train at the Lake Shore & Michigan Southern station? I can assure you in advance that the
child selected for your home is particularly desirable in every respect and I am quite certain that you will be
delighted with the choice.
Very respectfully,
Charles F. McKenna
Secretary
