Museum and Research Center Construction
Union Pacific Depot before restoration. The
depot was built in 1917 to replace the original
1878 structure. The depot will house exhibits
and displays on the Orphan Train Movement,
as well as local railroad history.

Completed in January of 2005 and made
possible by a Heritage Trust Fund grant from
the
Kansas State Historical Society for $50,586.
Ground breaking for the new
Morgan-Dowell Research Center in
June of 2005.  
Construction began on the Research Center in May 2006 and the exterior was
completed and dedicated in June 2006 at the National Celebration.
